My students will ask, "Don't you ever get in a bad mood??" :) My reply typically goes something like this: "Every day, when I wake up, I have the choice of being positive or negative about how my day will go. My choice is to stay positive. It takes so much more energy to be down and crabby and not enjoy what it is that I'm doing. Why would I put myself, my family, or worst of all, you, through that??"
This is my place to add a few positives, to make you smile, or to just give your day a little bit of a boost. Whatever it is, I hope you enjoy it!
This is an amazing process of creating a home using 3D printing technology! Imagine the possibilities this can bring to those who are homeless or who simply need a place while they are looking for something more permanent! If this isn't positive, I don't know what is?! :)
Just a little funny video posted by a principal down south. Humor is used in my classroom for a number of different reasons. Enjoy and remember to smile, it makes your mouth happy!
What better positive thing could you have than Stevie Wonder, singing "Superstition", while visiting Sesame Street! Enjoy and happy Friday!
I love the website Values.com for any number of reasons, but the biggest reason is that they have a huge about of video that lift people up. This one is about being kind! Enjoy!
This is a very quick video, but highlights some of the success stories in our history, of people being told they couldn't do something, then turning around and showing everyone how wrong they were. Please watch and think: Where is my story going to take me? How can I prove the doubters wrong?
Eric Thomas is a dynamic speaker who I've used in the classroom from time to time, having the students watch and write about the message he's giving. I love listening to his message and how he's constantly pushing the idea of being able to do your best, regardless. Here's an example of what he's all about:
I love the silly, goofy style of Jimmy Fallon, so I thought for my first piece of happy, I'd post the video of him, The Roots (another favorite) and the cast of Sesame Street (who doesn't like them), singing the theme to Sesame Street, using kid instruments and electronics. If you can't smile to this, then keep coming back, and I will get you to, I promise! :)
